Rhino Resource Partners announced several appointments. Rick Boone was promoted to the position of president of the general partner and all subsidiaries. Boone most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial officer since 2014. Additionally, Scott Morris was promoted to the position of vice president and chief financial officer. Morris has served under Boone in different senior level financial roles since joining Rhino in 2010, most recently as vice president of finance. William Tuorto, the general partner’s chairman of the board, will assume the position of executive chairman.
Arch Coal recently proposed a board of directors, which includes Richard Navarre, who was president of St. Louis-based Peabody Energy.
Westmoreland Coal Co. appointed Jeffrey S. Stein as an independent director. Stein will serve on both the audit and the nominating and corporate governance committees of the board. Stein is founder and managing partner of Stein Advisors LLC and co-founder and managing partner of Power Capital Advisors LLC.

Foresight Energy LP appointed Brian D. Sullivan as a new independent member of the board of directors of its general partner and a member of the board’s audit committee. Most recently, he served as a managing member of Energy Resource Services LLC. Previously, Sullivan worked for Alpha Natural Resources as the executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
Komatsu America Corp. appointed Dan Funcannon vice president and general manager of the company’s mining division. He replaces Erik Wilde, who accepted a position with another company. Funcannon joined Komatsu in 1994 as a design engineer and has held roles of increasing responsibility within the research and development organization. Most recently, he was director of engineering, responsible for all engineering activities for large mining trucks.

Mon Valley Integration LLC appointed Justin Morell as the health, safety and environmental manager. Morell began his career as safety supervisor with the Alpha Natural Resources Cumberland and Emerald mines.
Weir International, Inc. has appointed Fran X. Taglia managing director. Taglia has more than 10 years of technical, operational analysis, and business management experience in the financial, product development, production and mining industries.
