Coalview Achieves Milestones at Centralia

Coalview celebrated its first year anniversary of commissioning the Centralia fine coal recovery (FCR) plant, which operates 24/7. “We are pleased with the progress our team has made at the Centralia FCR plant,” said Roger Fish, CEO of Coalview. “Plant construction was finished on time and on budget. In spite of several obstacles, we were able to achieve high efficiency along with high availability that is significantly better than industry standard.”

Thorwesten Installs Lignite Silo

Based in Beckum, Germany, Silobau Thorwesten has been awarded several portions of the tender to rebuild a large-scale power plant in Cottbus, Germany. The core piece of the order is a large-capacity silo and the controls for storing up to 1,430 m³ of pulverized lignite. The silo has a diameter of 9 m, a height of 40.5 m and it is 2-bar pressure shock resistant. The unit is equipped with a filter system and explosion doors. The explosion protection and suppression equipment for the silo were supplied by Thorwesten Vent.

Lincoln Marks 1 Year Without Reportable Injury

Lincoln Contracting & Equipment announced that its Somerset and Boswell, Pennsylvania, welding and fabrication shops recently celebrated one year of safety with no recordable incidents. Currently, there are 15 men who work in the Somerset plant and 21 in the Boswell location. This represents a combined total of more than 108,000 incident-free man hours.

Rema Tip Top AG has acquired a significant interest in Cobra Group/Depreux, a specialist in the manufacture of conveyor belts and accessories. The acquisition brings new perspectives for cross-industry growth in the field of conveying equipment for both companies. The financial details were not disclosed. A French company, Cobra is one of the larger belting suppliers for the the mining business. In addition to the company’s headquarters in Luxeuilde Bains, Cobra has production facilities in France, Poland and China.
