Arch Coal recently proposed a board of directors, which includes Richard Navarre, who was president of St. Louis-based Peabody Energy.
Westmoreland Coal Co. appointed Jeffrey S. Stein as an independent director. Stein will serve on both the audit and the nominating and corporate governance committees of the board. Stein is founder and managing partner of Stein Advisors LLC and co-founder and managing partner of Power Capital Advisors LLC.

Foresight Energy LP appointed Brian D. Sullivan as a new independent member of the board of directors of its general partner and a member of the board’s audit committee. Most recently, he served as a managing member of Energy Resource Services LLC. Previously, Sullivan worked for Alpha Natural Resources as the executive vice president and chief commercial officer.
Komatsu America Corp. appointed Dan Funcannon vice president and general manager of the company’s mining division. He replaces Erik Wilde, who accepted a position with another company. Funcannon joined Komatsu in 1994 as a design engineer and has held roles of increasing responsibility within the research and development organization. Most recently, he was director of engineering, responsible for all engineering activities for large mining trucks.
