The Coal Authority appointed Lisa Pinney as its new chief executive. She takes over from Philip Lawrence, who has been chief executive of the non-departmental public body for the past 11 years. Pinney joins the Coal Authority from the Environment Agency where she was most recently director of the West Midlands Area. The Coal Authority is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy in the U.K.
