The CDE Group unveiled the new ProPress, a high-performance filter press that integrates the latest technological advancements to deliver exceptional operational efficiency and maximum water recovery. With a flexible design and 2.5-by-2-m plates, fewer plates, a greater chamber volume, the press handles “variable throughput that can be scaled to fit the processing volume of any operation,” the supplier said.
The system is dual feed, meaning sludge is fed from both sides of the ProPress for improved efficiency and faster cycle times. Optimized feed pressure speeds dewatering and increases throughput, CDE reported. “This is further supported by an overhead beam design that ensures reliability by reducing stress on the unit and improving its durability.”
Integrated plate-shaking technology helps address cake build-up in chambers and reduces the need for manual intervention. The walkway provides safe access for maintenance. “Flush-mounted drip trays reduce material entrapment and lock in place to provide a secure maintenance platform for operators,” CDE said. An automation system controls plate opening and shaking, cloth washing, the plate winch, and the maintenance platform.
The press helps users “recycle up to 95% of process water,” CDE said. The press could be used to dewater concentrates before they are shipped to market and to dewater tailings before they are dry stacked on the storage facility.
