Working with ecom instruments, Snively recently completed an MSHA certification project for an intrinsically safe (IS) mobile computer. The MSHA-certified iroc.Ci70-Ex, distributed by Snively, combines multiple functions in one device, Windows mobile computer, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, safety inspection tool, electronic fire bossing, barcode scanner and a video/PDF viewer. This device eliminates the need for manual data collection and provides mine con-tractors/vendors the ability to use a Windows mobile device to interface their machinery at the face and return areas of the mines. Intermec (now owned by Honeywell) manufactures the base unit, which is re-engineered by ecom to be explosion-proof.
