Atrum Coal said it is making progress in its legal claim against the Government of Alberta, Canada, for the de facto expropriation of the Elan coal leases, with a trial date set for early 2025. Alberta placed an indefinite moratorium on coal exploration and development, which prevents Atrum from proceeding with the Elan South coking coal project, located in the Crowsnest Pass area of southern Alberta. The company, holding $2.2 million in cash and no debt, is also actively seeking to sell its Groundhog and Panorama anthracite projects in British Columbia, while managing expenses prudently as the litigation continues.
