Yemen’s Houthi militants sunk a coal-carrier navigating the Bab el-Mandeb chokepoint in the Red Sea with a sea drone, Bloomberg reported. According to the report, the British navy said that the only visible objects in the last known location of the Tutor dry-bulk carrier were some debris and an oil slick. One crew member was killed in the attack. The incident marked the first time that a ship was sunk by an uncrewed surface vessel, a small boat packed with explosives. The ship was built in late 2022 and it was capable of hauling about 80,000 metric tons of coal.
