The Highland project near Henderson and the Dodge Hill complex near Sturgis ceased production effective Monday, officials said; the St. Louis-based company emerged from bankruptcy a year ago.
The Heritage preparation plant and barge loading facility on the Ohio River, meanwhile, will continue coal processing and shipping from on-site stockpiles, added Patriot representatives.
