Bruce Watzman, vice president of the National Mining Association (NMA), will provide the opening keynote address on Thursday morning. Watzman is responsible for managing the NMA’s overall regulatory policy activities to ensure its consistency with the business needs of the association’s membership.
Hosting Thursday’s student luncheon will be Dr. Gerald H. Luttrell, professor, Virginia Tech. SME President Dr. Jessica Elzea Kogel, along with James McCaffrey, senior vice president-sales, CONSOL Energy, and John Pippy, CEO, Pennsylvania Coal Alliance, will be Friday’s keynote speakers.
Professional development hours can be earned based on attendance at this event. Thursday attendance will earn 8 PDH and Friday attendance will earn 6 PDH (a total of 14 PDH for two-day attendance).
